A full gut renovation of a top floor condominium unit with great views along the Tama River.
Home to a couple and their child.
We reconfigured the original floor plan from a 3-bedroom + 19.4m² living room, dining room, kitchen to a 2-bedroom + 32.4 m² living room, dining room, kitchen. Additionally, wewidening the entryway and built a walk-in-closet, a luxury of stand-alone houses.
To maximize space, the child’s room is interconnected to the living room, dining room, kitchen layout, divided by a retractable partition wall.A loft bedallows the entire floor area to feel open and expansive.
The built-in dining table makes the most ofthefamily’s love for cooking and eating. The structural concrete beam is incorporated in the ceiling design.
The owner, an avid book collector, requested for display shelves throughout the home. A storage roomwas also created for the books.
Gut renovation included a comprehensive redesign of the thermal environment. Weplaced insulation in the ceiling giventhe unit’s top floor position and installed radiant heat in the living room.
